The Investigative Division is responsible for follow-up inquiries of all major crimes, such as murder, robbery, rape, burglary, and serious assaults. The Investigative Division also examines any other crimes that warrant an in-depth investigation as determined on a case by case basis.

Investigators are assigned to one or more of the following sections within the Division:
- Criminal Investigations
- Court Prosecution
- Youth Services
- Special Investigations
- Sex Offender Notification
- Evidence Control
The Special Investigative Unit is often utilized to locate and arrest felony fugitives who are wanted by neighboring jurisdictions as well as our own.
